More than 500 delegates attended the 16th International Meeting on Radiation Processing that took place in Montreal in June. The theme for the meeting was " Where Science and Business Connect", represented throughout the technical programme by presentations from all facets of the radiation processing industry, academia and regulatory authorities. Parallel sessions ran over 3 days on the subjects of Healthcare, Advanced Materials, Food Irradiation , Technology Developments and Evolving Applications. Special attention was paid to student contributors in a new plenary oral session showcasing the three most novel student papers that were submitted for poster presentation. The final call to action was presented by the Chair of the Programme Committee, Dr Eamonn Hoxey who drew together the highlights from each of the technical strands and encouraged the establishment to reach-out to the academic institutions to encourage the development of collaboration and mentoring of the new generation of industrial radiation processing professionals. - Click for more
